908,060. Batteries. BORIOLO, L. A. June 16, 1959 [June 16, 1958; Dec. 10, 1958], No. 20595/59. Drawings to Specification. Class 53. Pencil-shaped electrodes of the type in which active material is packed in textile retaining tubes have the tubes made from synthetic fibres that are heat shrinkable and acquire rigidity in the process and further fibres of an inorganic nature resistant to chemical attack (e.g. glass fibre) so woven as to form substantially the whole of the inner face of the tubes. Further threads (e.g. of cotton) that are destroyed by the electrolyte may be added and assist initial rigidity for pouring the active powder in the tubes, subsequently assisting porosity when destroyed. Specification 809,884 is referred to. |
