PURPOSE: An apparatus for producing sponge titanium is provided to effectively eliminate reaction heat by injecting inert gas to a part where the inner wall of a reaction container and a reaction area meet. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for producing sponge titanium comprises a reducing furnace(10), a reaction container(30), a partition plate(50), and a gas injection unit(70). The reducing furnace generates heat. The reaction container is installed inside the reducing furnace and has an inner space, a cover with an inert gas inlet, and a titanium tetrachloride feeder. The partition plate is installed in the inner space and divides the inner space into first and second spaces. The gas injection unit injects inert gas to a part where the inner wall of the reaction container and a reaction area meet.
