PURPOSE: A side mirror control device and method for a vehicle are provided to automatically regulate the angle of a side mirror according to the displacement of a vehicle behind. CONSTITUTION: A vehicle detecting unit(1), comprising a camera, senses vehicles existing on the rear sides. A control unit(2) controls the operation of a side mirror according to a signal from a turn light and the angle of the side mirror according to the displacement of the vehicles detected by the vehicle detecting unit. A side mirror drive unit(3) drives the side mirror according to the control of the control unit.
