PURPOSE: An opening and closing assist mechanism of an upright pipe valve is provided to open and close an upright pipe valve easily. CONSTITUTION: An opening and closing assist mechanism(100) of an upright pipe valve contains a gripping portion(20) gripping an upright pipe valve lever(12) to be rotatable, and a rod(30) extended from the gripping portion and provided with a knob for a user to grip.
