PURPOSE: An array substrate for wide-viewing angle liquid crystal display device is provided to increase an opening rate and improve charging characteristics by reducing the capacitance of a storage capacitor. CONSTITUTION: An array substrate for wide viewing angle includes as follows. A gate wired is formed to a first direction on a substrate. A data wire defines a pixel area by exchanging the gate wire. A thin film transistor is electrically connected to the gate wire and the data wire. A pixel electrode(155) is formed to the pixel area, is connected to a drain electrode of the thin film transistor and includes at least first opening unit(op1). A protective layer(160) is formed on upper part of the pixel electrode and covers a thin film transistor, a gate wire and a data wire. A common electrode(170) is formed on upper part of the protective layer, is overlapped with the pixel electrode, and has a plurality of second opening unit(op2). The first opening unit corresponds to a common electrode which is between neighboring second opening unit.
