The tensioning device has a housing (21) with through opening (28) holding a displaceable tension bolt (22) fitted at one end with a wedge member (23). Two clamping jaws (44,45) are provided of which each bears by an outer face against the wall of the component part opening and has a contact face (44) for the wedge face (42,43) of the wedge member. Pretensioning means (47) for the jaws holds them with the wedge faces. the housing can be a piston seated displaceable in a cylinder housing.
