PURPOSE: A method for preparing a catalyst for polymerizing polyolefin is provided to obtain the catalyst for polymerizing a binary magnesium compound-supported polyolefin with high activity using a dialkoxymagnesium supported catalyst. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing a catalyst for polymerizing polyolefin comprises the steps of: (i) preparing a magnesium halide precursor solution by dissolving magnesium halide in alcohol and hydrocarbon; (ii) preparing a dialkoxy magnesium carrier by reacting a halogen compound and alcohol with metal magnesium; and (iii) reacting titanium tetrachloride and internal electron donor in the presence of the magnesium halide precursor solution and the dialkoxy magnesium carrier.
