POLYETHYLENETEREPHTHALATE FIBER FOR AIR BAG AND FABRIC USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A polyethylene terephthalate fiber for airbag and a fabric using the same are provided to improve bursting phenomenon of an edge sealing part not to make the airbag fabric burst at the airbag cushion reverse flatting test. CONSTITUTION: The polyethylene terephthalate multifilament for airbag is manufactured by spinning a polyethylene terephthalate chip having an inherent viscosity of 0.8~1.3. The polyethylene terephthalate multifilament for airbag is extended to less than 4% under the initial stress of 1.0g /d, at the room temperature and is extended to less than 12% under the stress of 4.5g /d. The polyethylene terephthalate multifilament contains terminal carboxyl group (CEG) less than 35mmol / kg and has a mono denier less than 5 denier.
