In accordance with this invention, a system includes mechanical power generation devices 1 to 5 for outputting a mechanical power by combustion of a liquid or gas fuel, a plurality of generators 6 to 10 to be driven by the mechanical power generation devices and for generating an AC voltage, a common bus 12 to which the output terminals of the plurality of the generators are connected in parallel, a plurality of electric power conversion devices 52 to 55 whose the input terminals are connected to the common bus and which output an AC voltage of variable amplitude and variable frequency, and a plurality of electric motors 23 to 26 respectively connected to the respective electric power conversion devices, and for driving a load machine, wherein the respective electric power conversion devices 52 to 55 control the reactive power exchanged with the common bus according to the voltage fluctuations of the common bus 12, thereby to control the amplitude of the common bus voltage to be constant. |
