Provided is an electro-optical transducer that includes at least one of each of the following: a light, a transparent substrate in the form of a flat-parallel plate or a total internal reflection prism, a line modulator, a visualizer, a sensing unit and a control unit. The line modulator comprises a transparent electro-conductive layer that is coated with a jelly layer, and a system of parallel strip electrodes for controlling and grounding, which are connected to a periodic structure of controlling and grounding teeth, respectively. The teeth and the electrodes are in the form of two insulated conductive terminals with fingers arranged in a parallel direction with respect to the light source. An array period for the controlling and grounding teeth is selected according to the light source wavelength and divergence thereof. Also provided are a jelly layer, and a compound and methods for producing the jelly layer.
