<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize an electric power consuming means, in a braking device for a wind power generator that stops a wind turbine by making the electric power consuming means consume electric power generated by the generator. <P>SOLUTION: This braking device 10 for the wind power generator includes an electricity storage device 11, an electric power consuming device 12 and a switching device 13. The electricity storage device 11 stores electric energy generated by the generator 2 for converting wind power into the electric energy, and releases the stored electric energy. The electric power consuming device 12 drives the generator 2 of consuming the electric energy stored in the electricity storage device 11.
