PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for oral cavity, which exerts high bactericidal action against pathogenic bacteria in the oral cavity, effectively suppresses or prevents dental plaque formation and is excellent in impression at use. SOLUTION: The composition for oral cavity includes (A) benzylglyceryl ether, (B) at least one nonionic bactericidal component chosen from isopropylmethyl phenol, thymol, hinokitiol and menthol and (C) an alcohol and/or a nonionic surfactant, provided that the amount of component (A) is 0.1-20 mass%, and the mass ratio of (A)/(B) is 2-500. Alternatively, the composition for oral cavity includes (A) benzylglyceryl ether and (D) at least one ionic bactericidal component chosen from higher alkyl sulfuric acid ester salt, N-acyl sarcosinate and quaternary ammonium salt, provided that the amount of the component (A) is 0.1-20 mass%, and the mass ratio of (A)/(D) is 1-2,000.
