PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically determine a content reproduction apparatus for reproducing a content provided via a network according to a position of a controller. SOLUTION: A DTV 3 which can reproduce the content provided from a DVR 4 via the network according to an instruction from a controller 2 includes a first communication unit 305 which receives a first search request, a second communication unit 306 which receives a second search request from the controller 2 and whose communicable distance with the controller 2 is shorter than that of the first communication unit 305, and a control unit 301 which transmits a first response including identification information of the DTV 3 by using the first communication unit 305 when the first communication unit 305 receives the first search request and transmits a second response for specifying the identification information included in the transmitted first response to the controller 2 by using the first communication unit 305 or the second communication unit 306 when the second communication unit 306 receives the second search request.
