PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a low electric power consumption autofocusing camera module with which power consumption can be reduced by reducing the amount of lens projection; and a method of reducing power consumption. SOLUTION: The low electric power consumption autofocusing camera module includes a lens actuator for autofocusing and a control part which controls the amount of lens projection to be zero in a section where the resolution is guaranteed.
