PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately reduce an influence of a defective pixel, generated by a recording element having a recording failure, on an output image, by using an adjacent recording element. SOLUTION: A non-discharge nozzle is detected out of nozzles 151 of a head 150, and a density correction valueΔD for the non-discharge nozzle is acquired from a density correction value storage 196. Image data corresponding to a nozzle adjacent to the non-discharge one is specified from image data to be outputted. The characteristic density curve line of the nozzle adjacent to the non-discharge one is acquired from a characteristic density curve line storage 194, and an output pixel value Pout after an input pixel value Pin of the specified image data is non-discharge corrected, is calculated.
