PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for executing network reentry by handover of an MS in a communication system. SOLUTION: In the communication system, the mobile terminal (MS) transmits a notification indicating that execution of handover to a target BS from a serving base station (BS) is required to the target BS, the target BS transmits handover process optimization information indicating whether the MS can omit at least one of processes required for executing network reentry operation to the target BS to the MS by following the notification of the handover from the MS, and the MS receives the handover process optimization information and follows the handover process optimization information to execute the network reentry operation to the target BS.
