PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide equipment for manufacturing hot dip metal coated steel strip and a method of manufacturing hot dip metal coated steel strip capable of reducing the occurrence of splash and top dross defect even at the usual plate passage speed and even at the high speed plate passage speed and capable of stably manufacturing a hot dip metal coated steel strip excellent in surface appearance. SOLUTION: In the equipment for manufacturing hot dip metal coated steel strip in which the gas from a wiping nozzle is blown against the surface of steel strip continuously drawn up from a hot dip metal coating bath to perform the control of plating addition amount on the surface of steel strip, a plating metal powder discharging belt (2) which has a steel belt width directional length longer than that of the wiping nozzle (1) and is movable in the steel belt strip direction is arranged on the under side of the wiping nozzle (1), and a gas nozzle (3) which has the steel belt strip directional length equal to that of the wiping nozzle (1) and jets the gas against the surface of steel belt is arranged on the under side of the plating metal powder discharging belt (2).
