<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect blocking of a catalyst in a denitrifying device and method. <P>SOLUTION: In the denitrifying device 100 provided with the catalyst 12 removing nitrogen oxides in a combustion exhaust gas by a reaction of a reducing agent such as ammonia with combustion exhaust gas introduced into a can 11 which are sprayed at the inlet of the can 11, the catalyst 12 arranged in a plurality of stages with predetermined intervals to the flow direction of the combustion exhaust gas in the can 11, a sound wave transmitting device S transmitting sonic waves arranged on both sides of the catalyst 12 and a wave receiving device R receiving sonic waves, and an attenuation detecting part 6 which detects attenuation of sonic waves based on sound waves transmitted by the wave transmitting device S and sound waves received by the wave receiving device R and based on the attenuation, which detects the blocking of the catalyst 12 are included. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
