<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus without wasting toner in an image forming unit. <P>SOLUTION: A shutter 22 is provided below a supply port 20 for toner from a toner cartridge 16 to the image forming unit 5 and a toner sensor 25 detecting the remaining amount of the toner is provided in the image forming unit 5. The use amount of the toner used for image printing is calculated by counting the number of printed dots. When it is detected that the image forming unit 5 is used to the limit, the supply of the toner from the toner cartridge 16 is stopped by the shutter 22 and image recording is stopped when the fact that the toner is used by a prescribed amount from when the toner sensor 25 detects that the remaining amount of the toner in the image forming unit 5 is constant is calculated by counting the number of printed dots. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
