摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome the problem with adjustment of the recording power of an optical disk comprising a plurality of recording layers, wherein it is difficult to determine an optimal recording power because data on test writing is varied due to the effect of the layers other than the concerned layer. <P>SOLUTION: A modulation degree M[m] is determined from a reproduction signal amplitude of a signal subjected to test writing using two or more kinds of recording powers Pw[m] (m is an integer). Using a demodulation degree characteristic formula M=Masy&times;(1-(Pint-Pasy)/(Pw-Pasy)) having an asymptotic modulation degree Masy, a recording power piece Pint, and an asymptotic recording power Pasy as parameters, at least an optimal recording power piece Pint_opt is determined by fitting the relationship between the Pw[m] and the M[m]. Using at least the M[m], the demodulation degree characteristic formula, and the Pint_opt, approximation accuracy by the fitting and/or the quality of the test writing signal are evaluated.
