CELLULOSE ESTER FILM, POLARIZER, AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cellulose ester film having high surface hardness that gives a polarizer excellent in machinability and durability.

SOLUTION: The cellulose ester film contains a non-phosphate based additive and has an orientation of 0.12 or higher in the direction of film thickness measured in a wide angle X-ray diffraction method and an average elastic modulus of 3.7 GPa or higher and 4.5 GPa or lower. The non-phosphate based additive is a trimellitic acid ester having a molecular weight of 350 or higher and is contained in a concentration of 5 mass% or more and 25 mass% or less relative to the cellulose ester.
