PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state laser device for engine ignition by semiconductor laser excitation, stably supplying optical energy necessary for ignition, in a wide temperature range. SOLUTION: In the solid-state laser device for engine ignition by semiconductor laser excitation, a temperature width of a locking range is divided into a plurality of temperature ranges corresponding to a fluctuation width of an ambient temperature. In the temperature range of each locking range, a plurality of semiconductor lasers 21, 22, 23, 24 each having a wavelength within an absorption wavelength range of a solid-state laser medium 5 of the solid-state laser device are used so that a synthesizing mechanism synthesizes emitted light from the plurality of semiconductor lasers 21, 22, 23, 24 to irradiate the solid-state laser medium 5 with the synthesized emitted light and thereby to excite the solid-state laser medium 5.
