PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain gamma characteristics of a display element without using an exclusive measuring device measuring the gamma characteristics. SOLUTION: A storage part 48 stores a plurality of LUT for modulating image in which a main image and a side image, and modulation information are corresponded based on non-linear correspondence relation of luminance for an axis direction in a LCD module 22 and luminance for the out of axis direction. A selecting part 47 selects the LUT for modulating image based on selecting indication from a main controller 11. An image modulating part 46 refers the selected LUT for modulating image, obtains modulation information corresponding to the main image and the side image, and modulates by performing alternately increment and decrement for a data value of the main image for each pixel group based on the obtained modulation information, and transmits it to a LCD module 22 as a data value of the image for display. The selecting part 47 obtains the gamma value on an axis of the LCD module 22 corresponding to the selected LUT for modulating image. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
