PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lining method of a reaction column which prevents part of a lining layer from being inwardly bulgingly deformed even when thermally expanded, and the lining layer from being destroyed even in a vacuum state. SOLUTION: A lateral band plate 11 made of a corrosion resistant metal plate is fixed to the inner circumferential face of a bleach column body 1 with uniform intervals in a vertical direction. A longitudinal band plate 12 is fixed between vertically adjacent band plates 11 at uniform intervals in a right-left direction. A lining plate 2 made of the corrosion resistant metal plate where one lateral side part and one longitudinal side part form respective convex step parts 7, 9 at a predetermined width through folded parts 6, 8 is arranged in each segment 13. The side edge parts of longitudinal and lateral side parts 7o, 9o on non-convex step part side are welded to the side edge parts of the longitudinal and lateral band plates 11, 12. The longitudinal and lateral convex step parts 7, 9 are mounted on the longitudinal and lateral band plates 11, 12, respectively. The longitudinal side part and the lateral side part at the non convex step part side of the other respective adjacent lining plates 2 are respectively sandwiched inside at the longitudinal and lateral convex step parts 7, 9 of the lining plates 2 and are welded to the longitudinal and lateral side parts 7o, 9o at non-convex step part side of the lining plates 2 along the outer circumferential edge of the longitudinal and lateral convex step parts 7, 9.
