PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems of a large number of conventional daily used gantry self-traveling automatic car washing machines the mainstream of which is a type in which an operator must stand by therein or must stand by thereout and move after the washing has been completed wherein a person is brought into contact with the washing machine moved to the person while the person stands by on the outside and a serious accident may occur, the fee is kept constant irrespective of the size of a vehicle body, and the operating noise during the operation disturbs the neighborhood. SOLUTION: In this box type automatic car washing machine which covers the entire part of a vehicle body 5, a shutter 2 is installed at the entrance to prevent water leakage and noise from occurring. A display is installed on the inside so that the user can operate the display without coming to the outside.
