PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanical safety device of an injection molding machine enabling to mechanically stop the forward movement of a movable platen by arranging the ratchet pawl rotatably to a support part fixed to the movable platen and pinching the ratchet pawl between a saw-shaped rod fixed to a stationary platen, a base, or a pressure receiving platen and the same. SOLUTION: The injection molding machine having at least the movable platen 105 and the stationary platen 103 on the base 102, a mechanism for operating the opening/closing movement of the mold of the movable platen 105, and a mechanism for actuating a mechanical safety device according to the opening/closing movement of a safety door 111 has the saw-shaped rod 101 fixed to the stationary platen 103 or the base 102, a rail 110 assembled to the saw-shaped rod 101 and moving up and down interlocking with the opening/closing of the safety door 111, and the ratchet pawl 104 supported by the support post arranged in the movable platen 105, and is characterized in that the rail 110 causes the ratchet pawl 104 to do pushing up and down movement interlocking with the opening/closing of the safety door 111 and engages the saw-shaped rod 101 and the rachet pawl 104, and disengages them.
