PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a media information sharing system and a media information sharing method that can easily share media information between different network segments. SOLUTION: IP address information about a first home gateway 30 connected to a first home network 20 is set as forwarding information in a second HGW 60 connected to a second home network 50, so that a digital media player 40 connected to the second home network 50 can access a digital media server 10 connected to the first home network 20 to view content information stored in the digital media server 10.
