PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately measure elongation caused by deterioration due to secular use, by applying an elongation inspection device to an elongation inspection of an existing wire rope with a simple constitution. SOLUTION: An elongation inspection device 1 of the wire rope includes a magnetizing means 20 and a magnetism detecting means 40, and forms a magnetizing part with every predetermined distance by the magnetizing means 20 before inspecting the elongation. Thus, the device can inspect the elongation of the wire rope 130 used for an existing elevator of not applying a predetermined marking in advance. Since the invention is particularly constituted for directly measuring a travel distance of the wire rope 130 by a travel distance measuring means 10, even in a constitution for fixing and arranging the magnetizing means 20, the magnetism detecting means 40, the travel distance measuring means 10, and the like to each of installation parts, distance measurement between the magnetizing parts in an inspection can be performed, and the invention can be easily arranged in a required place by post-installation.
