PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a polarizer is provided to effectively eliminate iodine which does not contribute to a polarization feature, thereby obtaining a polarizer which has a superior polarization value and a superior group transmission rate. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing a polarizer includes a swelling step, a dyeing step, a bridging step, an extending step, and washing and drying steps. A dyed polymer film is dipped in a boric acid aqueous solution to fix suctioned iodine particles wherein the dye feature of the dyed polymer film is weakened because Iodine particles are physically bonded. The dipping time of the polymer film is between five seconds and ten minutes.
