PURPOSE: A cooling apparatus and method for a power storage unit in a hybrid vehicle are provided to quickly cool an power storage unit using cooled air discharged from an air conditioner. CONSTITUTION: A cooling apparatus for an power storage unit in a hybrid vehicle comprises an air conditioner(100), a cabin(200) which receives cooled air from the air conditioner, a power storage unit(300) which is located close to the cabin and accommodates an electronic capacitor(310), a cabin duct(400) which connects the cabin to the inside of the power storage unit, a cooling fan(320) which provides smooth air flow around the power storage unit, a temperature sensor(330) which measures the interior and exterior air of the power storage unit, and a cooling control unit which controls the opening/closing the cabin duct according to the measured temperatures.
