PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automated teller system that charges a fee for each kind of transactions, which prevents a user from being billed later when the user misunderstands that the fee is free.

SOLUTION: The automated teller machine 1 is provided with: a charge-free instruction acquisition part 21a for reading charge-free transaction instruction information 32a indicating whether only charge-free transaction recorded in a medium is desired; and a transmission means 29 for transmitting the read charge-free transaction instruction information 32a to a host computer 13. The host computer 13 is provided with: a charge-free transaction determination part 13a for determining an item of transaction to be permitted on the basis of the charge-free transaction instruction information 32a from the automated teller machine 1; and a transmission means for transmitting the result of determination of a charge-restricted-transaction determination part. In the automated teller machine 1, the item of transaction to be permitted which is transmitted from the host computer 13 is displayed on a display operation part 4.
