<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a performance supporting device for generating a harmony sound and an accompaniment sound with matched code feeling by a simple user operation, and a program for obtaining a performance supporting method. <P>SOLUTION: The accompaniment sound is generated based on an accompaniment pattern of selected and supplied accompaniment style data and input code information (block 8a). A lead sound is generated based on input lead sound data (block 8c). Code feeling information is extracted from the accompaniment style data (block 2a). Harmony sound generation code information is generated based on the extracted code feeling information and the code information (block 2b).
