<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp device for prolonging the service life of a discharge lamp by delaying the occurrence timing of flickering. <P>SOLUTION: The discharge lamp device includes: the discharge lamp 1 configured by arranging a negative electrode 13 and a positive electrode 12 in an arc tube 11 to face with each other, and containing an emitter substance in the negative electrode 13; a power source 2 lighting the discharge lamp 1; and a control mechanism 3 controlling the power source 2. The control mechanism 3 includes a turns-off time control means 31 that stops current supply to the lighted discharge lamp 1 for the predetermined time to turn off the discharge lamp 1, and restarts current supply after the predetermined time passes to turn on the discharge lamp 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
