FRONT BUMPER OF AUTOMOBILE

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain damage of the rear member of a front bumper upon front collision of an automobile; and to ensure to operate a hood jumping-up device when a pedestrian collides with the front bumper.

SOLUTION: The front bumper 20 of an automobile includes a sensor 33 of the hood jumping-up device at the front face 22f of a bumper reinforcement 22, and a fragile part 24 at the bumper reinforcement 22. The fragile part 24 has strength enough not to bend against front collision load required to operate the sensor 33, and is configured to bend by receiving collision reaction force when the bumper reinforcement 22 moves rearward with the front collision load and the bumper reinforcement 22 collides with the rear member 18.
