PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an abnormality determining device for an internal combustion that optimizes timing for determining abnormality by delaying abnormality determination as much as possible within a range where the delay idle operation does not have a disadvantage for the idle operation in relation to the internal combustion in which corrective action of idle speed is performed to each cylinder group. SOLUTION: In relation to V type engine where ISC learning control is performed to each bank, when only an ISC learning value of one of the banks reaches a limit value, the abnormality determination is not performed. When ISC learning values of both banks reach the limit value, the abnormality determination is performed and an IML is lit. Thus, when the ISC abnormality of one of the banks occurs, a possibility is left that an actual idle speed is properly controlled by ISC control in the other bank when ISC abnormality occurs in one of the banks.
