The device such as beverage making machine, laundry treatment appliance or oven, comprises a steam generator (9) for producing steam from water and/or hot water producer (19), a water connection (1) to a water supply device (7), a device for decalcification of water-guiding- or steam-guiding parts such as steam generator and/or the hot water producer, a control device that is associated to the device for the decalcification in order to transfer the device automatically in a condition of the decalcification process during a production break, after a deactivation or during a stand-by mode. The device such as beverage making machine, laundry treatment appliance or oven, comprises a steam generator (9) for producing steam from water and/or hot water producer (19), a water connection (1) to a water supply device (7), a device for decalcification of water-guiding- or steam-guiding parts such as steam generator and/or the hot water producer, a control device that is associated to the device for the decalcification in order to transfer the device automatically in a condition of the decalcification process during a production break, after a deactivation or during a stand-by mode. The decalcification device comprises means for withdrawing water from the water supply device over the water connection in order to take the water from the water supply device during the decalcification process, a means (40) for processing the water taken from the water supply device in order to reduce the pH-value of the received water, and means for the supply of water to be processed to the water-guiding or steam-guiding parts. The means for the reception of water comprises a branch pipe from a first line guiding from the water supply device to steam producer and/or hot water producer, and a shut-off device that is arranged in a line branching at the branch pipe. The line guides to means for processing. The means for the supply of processed water comprises an intersection in the first line. The intersection is arranged between the branch pipe and the stem producer and/or the hot water producer. The line flowing to the intersection connects the means for processing with the first line. A shut-off device is arranged in the flowing line and is shut-off valve or stopcock. The shut-off device comprises a means for controllable actuation. The means for processing is electrodialysis unit or reverse osmosis unit or an acid ion exchanger and comprises an injector that is arranged for adding an acid or carbon dioxide to the water to be processed. Elements for measuring the electric conductance of the water flowing through the steam producer and/or hot water producer are arranged before and behind the steam producer and/or hot water producer.
