A spiked-plate 1 for interconnecting parts 11, 12 comprises a substantially U-shaped body, the limbs 2, 3 of which are formed with teeth 4, 5. Teeth 5 lie in the planes of the limbs and teeth 4 lie in planes extending inwardly from the limbs towards the central axis of the plate. In a modification, the planes of teeth 4 are parallel to the central axis. When driven, the teeth bend into the thickness of the parts, and the back of the plate may be flattened by hammering to form a stiffening groove 10.
