PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable laser oscillation device by preventing a malfunction of an overcurrent detection and protection circuit due to a load fluctuation of a discharge load and damage of a semiconductor control element of a high voltage switching power supply due to overcurrent. SOLUTION: When an output current of an inverter section 6 is detected in a primary current detection section and the detected current value exceeds a predetermined current value, a gate pulse width of a control element of the inverter section is reduced to decrease power loss generated in the control element of the inverter section by a protection circuit of a pulse width limiting means 37 limiting an output current value of the inverter section 6, and thereby thermal destruction of the control element of the inverter section is prevented.
