PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit shaving to be carried out evenly by evenly increasing contact pressure between an outer blade and the skin by applying negative pressure of air between the outer blade and the skin. SOLUTION: A blower is provided in the interior of the housing of the electric razor and is made to cause negative pressure of air inside the outer blade 1 by discharging the air from the sides of the housing. A pressure wall 3 is provided on the outside periphery of the outer blade to retain the negative pressure. When the skin is brought into contact with the top face of the pressure wall, the skin is sucked to the outer blade by the even negative pressure and comes into contact with the outer blade, adapting to the shape of the outer blade. That brings the outer blade into contact with the skin over the entire face and can effectively shave hair. Since pressure bringing the outer cutter into contact with the skin can be controlled by the wind velocity of the blower, the electric razor permits a stable shaving depth to be set by its setting.
