The dual fuel injection system has a high pressure pump (42) for supplying fuel in a high pressure area (20) from a high pressure-injection valve (32) under high pressure. A low pressure area (18) is formed for supplying fuel under low pressure from a low pressure-injection valve (26). A line (44) is provided between the high pressure area and the low pressure area, in which an actuated valve (46) is arranged for pressure reduction and for regulating the low pressure in low pressure area from the high pressure area.
