The air tight container (30) has a container body (34) with an opening section and a flange (36) that is formed along an outer circumference of the opening section. A sealing cover (32) is arranged such that it covers the opening section of the container body and it has closing wing (38) at an edge. An upper holding projection (40) and a lower holding projection are provided at an inner surface of the closing wing. An independent claim is also included for a mold for compression molding of an air tight container.
