PURPOSE: A solar cell and method for manufacturing the same are provided to implement low costs and high productivity by implementing a silicon thin film solar cell including light absorption layers which are laminated consecutively. CONSTITUTION: In a solar cell and method for manufacturing the same, a transparent conductive layer(103) is formed on a substrate(101). A p-type silicon layer(105p) is formed on the transparent conductive layer. A light absorption layer(105i) is formed on the p-type silicon layer. An n-type silicon layer(105n) is formed on the light absorption layer. A backside electrode(107) is formed on the light absorption layer.
