<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical multilayer film having low light reflectance, reduced glare or mirroring and excellent visibility. <P>SOLUTION: The optical multilayer film is obtained by layering a hard coat layer and a low refractive index layer comprising aerogel successively on one side of a base film comprising a transparent resin. The aerogel comprises a transparent porous body obtained by dispersing minute bubbles in a matrix formed from a hydrolyzable organic silicon compound or the hydrolysate thereof. The base film is a melt-extruded film having die lines each of which has ≤0.1 μm depth or height, a volatile component the content of which is ≤0.1 wt.%, ≤0.01 wt.% saturated water absorptivity and within 2% thickness fluctuation. The low refractive index layer has 30-500 nm thickness. The optical multilayer film satisfies inequality [1]: n<SB>L</SB>≤1.37, inequality [2]: n<SB>H</SB>≥1.53 and inequality [3]: (√n<SB>H</SB>-0.2)<n<SB>L</SB><(√n<SB>H</SB>+0.2) (wherein n<SB>H</SB>is the refractive index of the hard coat layer; n<SB>L</SB>is the refractive index of the low refractive index layer). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
