CATALYST FOR REMOVING NITROGEN OXIDE AND METHOD FOR REMOVING NITROGEN OXIDE BY USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for removing nitrogen oxides, the pressure loss of which is made small and the performance (selectivity or the like) of which can be restrained from being deteriorated owing to the pressure loss thereof and to provide a method for removing nitrogen oxides by using the catalyst for removing nitrogen oxides.

SOLUTION: The catalyst for removing nitrogen oxides is obtained by depositing a platinum group element on a carrier 10 which has a shape including a coiled cylindrical material 11 wound spirally at predetermined intervals and supports 12 joined to the coiled cylindrical material 11 along the axial direction thereof and is based on alumina. The method for removing nitrogen oxides in exhaust gas comprises a step of removing nitrogen oxides in exhaust gas by using a reducing agent in the presence of the catalyst for removing nitrogen oxides.
