DEVELOPING ROLLER, METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME, PROCESS CARTRIDGE AND ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing roller capable of stably forming images over a long period of time while suppressing a current leak caused by a potential difference between the roller and another member coming in contact with the roller.

SOLUTION: The developing roller includes in this order: an axial core body; an elastic layer containing silicone rubber; and a resin layer, wherein SiO2is unevenly distributed at the end face of the elastic layer. By unevenly distributing SiO2at the end face of the elastic layer, the resistivity of the end portion of the elastic layer becomes higher. Besides, the uneven distribution of SiO2is achieved by applying a DC current to the end portion of the elastic layer.
