<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of a conveying failure and glossiness failure of recording paper by rolling a film at a fixed tension, in an image forming apparatus for applying glossiness using a thermal head. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 100 includes the thermal head 201 for applying glossiness to any region of the recording paper P, the film 202 positioned between the thermal head 201 and the recording paper P, and a tension sensor 209 for detecting a tension added to film 202.
