PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connecting member that strikes a balance between tensile strength and compression strength that operate between a pair of brackets connected with mechanical elements such as a suspension arm of a vehicle, and to provide a method for manufacturing more reliable connecting member as the connecting member at a low cost. SOLUTION: The connecting member 1A includes: a pair of cylindrical brackets 11A; a metal member 10A with an arm 12 that connects the pair of cylindrical brackets 11A; and a fiber-reinforced resin member 21A with a continuous reinforcing fiber material 23 that is wound around an external perimeter 14A of the cylindrical brackets 11A to surround the metal member 10A.
