PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the lighting device of an automobile tailored to a center-pillarless specification and avoiding cost increase and damages caused by stepping stones or the like. SOLUTION: The lighting device includes a front door opening detection sensor 23 detecting that a front door 10 is opened, a rear door opening detection sensor 24 detecting that a rear door 11 is opened, and a courtesy lamp 25 provided on a front lower portion 11d of the rear door 11 and turned on when the front door opening detection sensor 23 detects that the front door 10 is opened and when the rear door detection sensor 24 detects that the rear door 11 is opened.
