PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metallocene complex efficiently incorporating ethylene andα-olefin and highly actively polymerizing a rubber component compared to a conventional metallocene catalyst when polymerizing a propylene impact copolymer and yielding an ethylene polymer having a high molecular weight with high polymerization activity at an industrially advantageous polymerization temperature when polymerizing the ethylene polymer; and a method for polymerizing an olefin. SOLUTION: The metallocene complex is represented by formula [I] (wherein M is Zr; Y is Si; X<SP>1</SP>and X<SP>2</SP>are each Cl; Z is O; and R<SP>1</SP>-R<SP>4</SP>and R<SP>11</SP>are each H or the like).
