PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication function selection method that can surely make connection with a connection destination by a communication connecting part even when there is a change in an application or the like of a program execution part. SOLUTION: When TE (terminal equipment) 2 makes connection with the predetermined connection destination through a communication network, a communication related function part 20 transmits a connection request signal using a predetermined communication function to a communication terminal 3. A communication function identifying part 50 in TA (terminal adaptation) 30 identifies a communication function (PDP type) used in the connection request signal. The TA 30 connects the TE 2 with the predetermined connection destination through the communication network using the communication function (PDP type) corresponding to the identified communication function (PDP type). The TA 30 of the communication terminal 3 can thereby identify the communication function (PDP type) usable by the communication related function part 20 of the TE 2 and make connection with the predetermined connection destination using the identified communication function (PDP type).
